North Metro Community Alcohol and Drug Service

The North Metro Community Alcohol and Drug Service (NMCADS) is a service developed in partnership with Cyrenian House and Next Step. The service provides improved access to a comprehensive range of alcohol and other drug services available at the same facility. The North Metro CADS has two sites as detailed below:

Joondalup (Main Site): 10 Clarke Crescent, Joondalup, WA 6027

Warwick: 26 Dugdale Street, Warwick, WA 6024, PO Box 2587, Warwick, WA 6024 

Services provided

• Assessment and referral
• Counselling including single session (adult, youth and family)
• Group programs
• Medical assessment and review
• Clinical Psychology
• Services for youth (including support for schools)
• Case management including shared care
• Withdrawal management including home-based withdrawal (through DAWN)
• Opiate and alcohol pharmacotherapy
• Diversion programs for people referred by the police and courts
• Services for people referred by other agencies including Mental Health, Corrective Services, Child Protection and General Practitioners
• Community based prevention and community development activities.

• Individual users, their family members, the local community

Entry Requirements

• Agencies can refer via a referral letter or North Metro Community Alcohol and Drug Service referral form; clients can also self-refer by phoning the service and providing basic details for a phone assessment to be completed.
• All referrals and assessments are discussed at a daily meeting. Following the meeting clients are contacted by telephone to discuss treatment options.
