Salvation Army Bridge Program - Sobering Up Centre & Detoxification Service

Perth Sobering-Up Centre and Detoxification Service are part of The Salvation Army’s alcohol and other drugs agency, the Bridge Program. Located in Bridge House, 15 Wright Street, Highgate, these services form part of a multi-phased service to individuals whose lives have become unmanageable through misuse of alcohol and other drugs.

Sobering-Up is an alternative to police lock-up for persons found intoxicated from any drug in a public place. This is a minimalist intervention aimed at reducing harm on the streets and in custody. Many clients are referred by police, but as many as 50% self-present or are referred by other agencies.

The Detoxification Service operates to a supportive care model, based on non-medical or low-medical interventions. More complex withdrawal cases or those with extremely severe symptoms are referred to medical services such as Royal Perth Hospital and Next Step.

Both these services are available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week
