Ruah Community Services - Kambarang Place Aboriginal Women's Refuge

Kambarang Place provides crisis accommodation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, without dependant children who are experiencing domestic/ family violence, are homeless or who are experiencing other life crisis.

Services provided

• Short term crisis accommodation 
• Case management to address:
• Advocacy
• Referrals and support letters to other agencies 
• AOD issues
• Housing issues
• Financial issues
• Mental Health issues
• Legal issues

Target Groups

• Aboriginal women (over the age of 18) without accompanying children, who are experiencing FDV, homelessness or other life crisis.

Entry Requirements

• Women can access Kambarang Place by contacting crisis care, entry point, the Domestic Violence helpline or contacting the refuge directly.
• Self-referrals
• A telephone assessment must take place prior to admission.
